About The Coffee:Altos del Abejonal is a highly regarded micro-mill and coffee farm located in San Pablo de León Cortés in Costa Rica’s renowned Tarrazú region, around 70km south of San José.
Established in 2009, the farm sits at elevations between 1,830 and 1,915 meters above sea level, where cool temperatures and high altitude conditions contribute to slow cherry maturation and exceptional cup clarity. Operated by the Vindas family—Mauricio Vindas Sr. and his son Mauricio Jr.—the farm, Finca Divino Niño, has built a strong reputation for producing meticulous, award-winning microlots.
The farm cultivates a range of traditional Costa Rican varieties including Caturra, Catuai, Typica, and Villalobos. Coffees from Altos del Abejonal are known for their precision and balance, with vibrant acidity and refined sweetness. Through a focus on washed, honey, and natural processing, and careful sun-drying on African raised beds, the team consistently enhances clarity, structure, and complexity in the cup.
